It was well worn and had a lot of scratches on it so I took the plunge and did it
So I primed it with a red spray paint which had primmer in it and I figured if I used that I wouldn't need as many coats of red paint... I know it is real bright red!!!! My sweet husband said "I think you made a big mistake"....lol....
So here is the table all painted, I used Cherry Chocolate paint and then went over it with Barn Red....I love the color, that is what I used on my sun flower table
I glazed it with black paint by painting it on and rubbing it off with a soft cloth, it took me a while with this cause I put to much black on and had to paint it again and glaze over it....
The picture is of my mom and dad a few years back...my dad passed away 4 years ago and my mom hasn't seen it yet....I hope she loves it as much as I do....
What do you think should of or shouldn't of???
You did a fantastic job on the table. I love the color. It's a neat little table.

ReplyDeleteI think you did an amazing job. Although I love to keep old things in their original condition as much as possible, I am a great fan of renewing them when they are just a bit too worn or don't fit in with our decor. Nothing better than saving an old family piece. I know your mom will love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following me from the over 40 blog hop and I am following you back.

You have done a really good job on the table. I think it takes confidence to decide to change something that is obviously so special. Well done.
ReplyDeleteShould have! Looks great! Would you believe I have the exact same table?! It's a project I haven't gotten to yet. My table doesn't have a sweet story attached like yours does because I picked it up second hand from a friend's sale. I love what you did to yours!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely should! The table looks great! You did an amazing job! Thanks for the follow at Life or Something Like It. Following back!
