Welcome to my Country Porch

                                               Welcome to my porch

Last fall my sweet husband, son, son in law, and father in law redone my porch while I was in San Diego with my daughter and new granddaughter.
The top of the porch was  crumbling  and Russ had to chip off the top no it wasn't that easy he had to get a jack hammer and work like crazy to get it off....
We have lived here for almost 6 years and always wanted a covered porch so we could sit out on it and not be in the sun.... Well I got my wish and they covered it....SWEET!!!!

The tan chairs came from my parents which came from my grandpa and grandma's house, I can still see my grandpa sitting on his porch eating cheese puffs....oh I love that I have my good memories of my childhood

The chairs have been painted black, red, and tan that I know of but I think there is many layers of paint on them... I still yet to know what color I want them......
I filled this metal tub with flowers and put it next to my front door and below the welcome sign I made and hung this year....
I still have a few things I want to do on the porch but it is perfect for now... we can go sit out in the mornings or evenings and sit in the chairs or the glider and enjoy the warm days and cool evenings....
Stop by sometime cause your always welcome to my Country Porch!!!!!

  1. I am in LOVE with your porch. Looks like a good job too. I am going to send someone over to see your blog since he's a contractor, bet he's impressed. I love how you have it decorated. You all should be proud and happy.

  3. Gosh - you make that invite just so.....well inviting! Wish you were closer, but the good old Atlantic and I guess much of the USA are between us. Do enjoy your porch: and I love the idea of all your childhood memories still being so close! When you have time, maybe you'd like to drop by my etsy shop -www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com (the toys would love you to see them) and then read about them at my blog - www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com. Happy sitting out! Isobel

  4. Oh! Porch is my frustration, we never had one and now I've seen yours. it's so...BEAUTIFUL. When I'll have my own house, the porch should be the main attraction. Then I'll come back here just to inform you..lols

  6. Growing up in the west, we did not have a porch, I have to admit it is one of the few things I love about the south. Nothing beats sitting on a porch watching the world go by.
